Just over 100 years ago, the great British composer Edward Elgar wrote one of his most poignant concertos for the cello. Lionel Bringuier and Gautier Capuçon bring this milestone of the repertoire back to life alongside Pictures at an Exhibition, here presented in Ravel's flamboyant orchestration.

A poetic and passionate bow player, Gautier Capuçon has no equal when it comes to exploring the thousand and one nuances of the scores he performs. We can't wait to discover his interpretation of Elgar's delicate Cello Concerto, a profound, intimate and moving work. In counterpoint, a key work from the 19th-century Russian repertoire: Pictures at an Exhibition, in which Mussorgsky amuses himself by transcribing into music the paintings he admires at an exhibition dedicated to his friend Viktor Hartmann, who had just died aged just 39. A whimsical and fantastic visit, with an almost cinematic presence!
